Potato cakes, snowflakes, headaches, and TV show takes.

When my child awoke this morning, she asked for potato cakes for breakfast. I had only made them once, and unlike the previous occasion (the day after Thanksgiving), there were no left over mashed potatoes in the fridge. My wife assured me the microwave would do just fine, and before long, my daughter had her hands in a potato, cheese, onion, flour and egg mixture. They were fantastic. Want the recipe?

2 potatoes cooked and mashed

1/2 cup of cheese (at least)

1/3 cup of flour

1/2 of a small onion diced

Salt (to taste)

Combine and fry in oil over medium/medium high heat.

(And just like that, I've shared my first recipe!)

Next, it was time for dog snuggles. We've had more snow days this year, and Lucy's become a bit attached.

Okay, I have to be real right now: I'm fighting a migraine headache and I am about to crash out. It's a struggle writing these words. But I want to do it! I need to do it.

Right now I feel like a cross between a slug and a sausage overstuffed with too many emotions and too much stimuli. I feel slow and sluggish. Too much input, not enough output in so many ways. Stuffed so full of inertia without a spark or the energy to explode.

I digress. So much of the day was lovely. My daughter made these amazing cookie's and cream cookies and we played in the snow. Snow balls, snow angels, bowls of snow. Snowflakes everywhere! Glimmers everywhere! Delicious breakfast. Hot coffee with cinnamon and cardamon froth.

It was a good day. A great day, even.

I met with the English department via Zoom to discuss grading policies. We then launched into a conversation about "Severance." What a show, am I right? I have so many questions and thoughts. (Spoiler warning!)

  1. What's up with the goats?

  2. Why do the people maintaining the goat farm look so destroyed, and don't they question why they leave the office smelling like goat shit?

  3. Helly R. (Innie Helly) is so miserable that she tries to end her life, yet she's still determined (along with her peers) to meet quarterly quota. Are all humans like this? Are we that driven by reward?

  4. Umm...the waffle party.

  5. Why did Mrs. Cobel run instead of meeting with the board?

  6. Who is on the board???

  7. How long or how many times has Helly's outie, Helena, been on the severed floor?

  8. Who is Miss Huang and why is she a child?

  9. The Break Room (the original Break Room) is traumatic af.

I think that's all I can give you this evening. Thank you for reading. Making this "Severance" list helped.
